Scammers impersonate bank or government officials over the phone to deceive you into revealing personal banking details or transferring money to a third-party account.
Victims are tricked into transferring money for supposed investments with promises of high returns. When they attempt to withdraw their funds, they are either asked for additional payments or find that the scammers are no longer reachable.
Scammers use fake dating profiles to deceive victims by pretending to seek romantic relationships. They gradually build trust to manipulate victims into transferring money to their accounts or disclosing credit card details.
Victims are promised payments for completing simple online tasks, but are required to use their own funds as capital. Scammers then demand additional payments to release the promised earnings or cut off contact entirely.
Scammers pose as sellers on e-commerce platforms, tricking buyers into making payments for goods that are never delivered. Once paid, the scammer becomes uncontactable.
Scammers lure victims with offers of low-interest loans, guaranteed approval, and no credit checks. Victims are often asked to pay an upfront fee, but the promised loan is never disbursed.
Also known as smishing, scammers send fake messages posing as banks or service providers to steal personal information or trick victims into clicking malicious links.
Scammers use fake emails, websites, or messages to steal sensitive information by disguising links and sender details to appear legitimate.
Malware infects devices to steal data, log keystrokes, or enable remote access, putting banking credentials and transactions at risk.
AEON Bank will never:
Ask for your password, PIN number or OTP via phone, email or SMS
Request for a fund transfer to "secure" your account
Ask for remote access to your device

How scammers operate:
Impersonate banks, law enforcement or government agencies to gain your trust
Claim your account has been compromised and urge for your immediate action to cause panic
Use legal threats and claim you have outstanding payments to pressure you into action

You may fall victim to fraud simply by:
Clicking on malicious links in emails and messages
Entertaining suspicious calls from scammers posing as enforcement personnel
Downloading harmful software from unknown sources
Sharing personal details with someone you don't know

Here's how you can protect your banking data:
If you receive suspicious calls/messages regarding your account, immediately report it to us via our official channels
Do not click on links or download attachments from unknown sources
Keep your personal and banking credentials private
Regularly update your app to stay protected with the latest security enhancements
